Dear Pastors and Moderators:

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

This is a reminder that the Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of South Carolina will be observing its Annual Baptist Day during the months of July and August 2010. The deadline for reporting contributions is September 5, 2010. The Convention is seeking your ardent participation and cooperation as we attempt to raise funds to meet the obligations of the Convention. We are very grateful for your support over the past years, and it is our prayer that you continue that support by holding a Baptist Day Rally Service in your area or by encouraging churches to submit their financial report to the local coordinator(s) for submission to the Baptist Headquarters Office, 1531 Hampton Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29201. Make all checks payable to: Baptist E&M Convention of SC.

Our financial goal for this year is $65,000.00. I believe this goal can be obtained through much prayer, sacrificial giving, and hard work. Enclosed is a listing of the Baptist Day Coordinator(s). All groups reporting last year are asked to report this year along with additional contributors. Regional Vice Presidents will be asked to work with the Baptist Day Coordinator(s) in their areas. Also, Moderators are encouraged to work cooperatively with Baptist Day coordinator(s) to ensure that all area churches contribute. The main objective is to raise monies so the Convention can meet all of its financial obligations. Headquarters is in need of an additional staff person, and the outside of the building is in need of sandblasting and external painting, which was approved at our Annual Session. It is necessary to look at how we can give a cost of living increase to current employees. In addition, we must continue to meet current obligations. Individual donations will be accepted and appreciated.

We are requesting that each Church, Association and State Auxiliary give the following:

Associations: $500.00 - $1000.00 each
State Auxiliaries: $800.00 - $1000.00 each
Churches: $250.00 - $500.00 each

We need your prayers, support and contributions as we seek to raise the level of effectiveness of our beloved Convention. As Christian leaders we ask that you encourage everyone to give. May I emphasize that NO CONTRIBUTION IS TOO SMALL.
