Auxiliary Overview
Women’s Convention
Dr. Claudette Cureton, President
This body was organized to enable the women of local churches within the Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of SC to fuse their work in missions and education. Morris College, owned and operated by the Convention is its first priority. Benedict College and mission projects also play a major roll in the nucleus of this Convention.
The Young Women’s Auxiliary
Ms. Debra Jordan, President
This auxiliary was organized to activity involve young women in the work of Baptist. It also has the same goals of the Women’s Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of SC.
The Baptist Brotherhood of SC
Deacon Leroy Martin, President
This auxiliary composes the laymen of local churches. Much like other state auxiliaries, it exists to financial support Morris and Benedict Colleges and has its major emphasis on young men and their development.
The State Youth Convention
Mrs. Mary Rice-Crenshaw, President
This auxiliary was organized by the Women’s Convention as an out reach to the youth of local congregations within the Convention.
Congress of Christian Education
Dr. Bryant Cheek, President
Common known as the Congress, it was organized as the education or teaching auxiliary of the Convention. It provides financial support to Morris and Benedict Colleges. The center of it works consists of workshops, classes, seminars, and other activities to provide Christian Education to parishioners of local congregations within the Convention. .
The State Ushers Convention

This auxiliary was organized to highlight the importance of Christian hospitality and organization within the convention’s local, regional and state settings. It supports the states higher educational institutions but mainly provides leadership for women and men who have been called to serve as ushers
South Carolina Music Auxiliary
Ms. Josiellia Williams, President
The music ministry of the Convention provides training to musicians, pastors, choral singers, Ministers of Music and other interested persons. An emphasis is on enhancing music in the local church.
