Rev. George P. Windley, Jr. was born on January 4, 1979 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He is the eldest of three children born to the Rev. George P. Windley, Sr. and Mrs. Linda Galloway Windley. He has one sister Belinda and one brother Mark Anthony.
Rev. Windley attended the public schools of Sumter SC, and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1997. He attended and graduated from Morehouse College in 2001 with a B.S. degree in Accounting. He also attended and graduated from Mercer University McAfee School of Theology in 2007 with a Master of Divinity Degree. At McAfee, Rev. Windley served as President of the Minority Student Association. Rev. Windley participated in a Mission Immersion Trip to Cuba, having the opportunity to minister and preach in Matanzas, Cuba. He also participated in the Baptist World Alliance Centennial Congress in Birmingham, England.
Rev. Windley is a member of Eden Lodge #46 PHA of Marietta, GA and was honored as Young Man of the Year by the Metro Atlanta Concerned Black Clergy in 2002.
Rev. Windley was licensed by St. John Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. in October 2004 and was ordained by the Black River Association, Manning SC in September 2007. While at St. John Baptist, he was the youth minister and an associate pastor. Also during his tenure there he served as the interim pastor for a period of time. In September 2008, Rev. Windley was elected Pastor of the First Baptist Missionary Church of Sumter, SC where he began his service on January 4, 2009.
