The Rev. Tracy J. Samuel is the son of Mr. Michael and Mrs. Sylvene Samuel. He is married to Mrs. Vernette Denise Samuel and has three sons. Born in Spartanburg, SC and educated in the Spartanburg School District seven and Department of Defense School Systems. He graduated from the Nurnberg American High School in Nurnberg, Germany. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from the University of South Carolina. A Master of Divinity, concentrating in Academic ministries from the Columbia International University Seminary and School of Missions in Columbia, SC.
The Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC, where he served as the Assistant Pastor, ordained him in 2000. He was licensed to the Gospel Ministry at the 12th Hour Fellowship Church in Nurnberg, Germany.
Rev. Samuel is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc, initiated at Wofford College, and member of the Columbia Alumni Chapter. He served as a District Commissioner for the Congaree District of the Boy Scouts of America in Columbia, SC. He served as the Director General of the SC Baptist Congress of Christian Education.
He is an Instructor and Director of the Youth Institute for the SC Baptist Congress of Christian Education, and a Instructor for the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, USA Inc. Executive Assistant to the President of the Baptist E&M Convention of South Carolina, Rev. Dr. B.D. Snoddy, Convention President.
He is the Pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, Greenwood, SC. He believes that all Churches should commit themselves through qualified leadership and dedicated volunteers to the service of edifying, equipping, and embracing all people with love who are apart of the fellowship of Jesus Christ. This should be done by promoting spiritual growth through Christian preaching, teaching, evangelism, stewardship, worship, and mission with a meaningful, joyous, and friendly worship experience for all generations. The purpose is to achieve a Christ-centered lifestyle to the glory of God.
